PROS
Its small (good for home office)
The autodocument feeder scans pretty fast
On best printing the photos have good detail
The text is crisp (but a little too grey)

CONS
The scanner does not handle duplex
The small screen is hard to use
Photo quality, while detailed, is washed out.
The photo tray is not automatic. It covers the regular tray and they both are connected making things cumbersome to change regular paper. To use the photo tray you have to take the paper tray out and then recofigure the tray so its moved up front. So you cannot auto select from the two trays.
Its too hard to figure out how to print edge to edge photos.

Overall, the cons outweigh the pros for me as I want to both print photos and regular documents.

If you want a printer that is cheap with ink costs, only print documents on 8.5×11, are not too concerned with color vibrancy, a good scanner, and small footprint this is a good one.

I have had this printer for a couple of weeks.

So far, so good. Better quality than HP.

Great product so far! I’ve had this printer for about a week and so far I’m very impressed. I had a lot of printers over the years and all of them have been HP. After destroying my old HP printer by putting off brand ink in it (their ink and new ink refill program are really expensive), I decided to try a Brother. I print a decent volume of items, but usually in batches, so I may not print much for a few months, then print a couple hundred pages in a couple days. With the HP auto refill program it just didn’t make sense for my ink usage. I decided to try this Brother because it includes 2400 pages of black and 1200 pages of color worth of ink.

Can’t Beat Brother When It Comes To Bang For The Buck

I’ve owned two Brother laser printers in the past and have had very good luck with them so when I needed to get a light duty all-in-one I felt comfortable going with Brother again. Needless to say they’ve done an excellent job again. Setup for this printer could not be more painless and if you’re configuring it to be used wireless you don’t need to install any software or even connect it to a computer. The cartridge cleaning took about 5 minutes and then all I had to do was connect it to my network and I was good to go. If you’re using a Mac just add the printer and the drivers install in 1-2 minutes. I was up and printing in about 15 minutes counting the cartridge cleaning time.

About Time…

This printer has huge ink cartridges, was easy to set up and has more features than any printer I’ve owned so far. It works great and we’ll see if the ink lasts like they say it will. Just sooo tired of having to buy ink that costs almost as much as the printer…

Hours of Research. This review will tell it all.

I did a LOT of research before choosing this printer.

Works great..

Works great… however… I kind of wish you didn’t have to pull a tray completely out of the printer in order to put paper in. THE PRINT QUALITY is disappointing – there is no doubt about that – it is light and not a nice dark, fine print at all. There are many others who warned me of this prior to purchase but I took the plunge anyway due to that darn review by PCMag. Perhaps the mediocre print quality is how it gets away with the claims over their Inkvestment system. Also, why is the startup sequence eating nearly half of the colored ink (according to their own store description – the startup procedure leaves you with 90% black and 60% color, according to brother themselves?!)

Trouble setting up AirPrint but now all good

I just received this today. Purchased it to replace my hp envy 110 that refuses to connect thru wifi without setting up each use. In our home, we have multiple devices that need to connect to the printer. That includes a couple Windows computers and various versions of iPhones and iPads.
